The mystery of proper maintenance...
It’s a dark and stormy night; the weather is cold, rainy, and miserable, but your driver has just delivered his load and is returning home to the warehouse with an empty trailer.
He comes across a weigh station with its flashing sign, “ALL TRUCKS MUST STOP AT SCALES,” and of course your driver complies.
The DOT officer exits the office in his rain gear and motions your driver to pull forward. He asks the driver to turn on his lights and proceeds to circle the rig.
Your driver is feeling very relaxed and confident; he doesn’t see the ticket coming. “What's this?” your driver exclaims, “Red tagged for a frayed brake hose and burned out clearance light?”
The day is getting longer and your driver is on overtime; you'd better call for roadside assistance. The traffic is heavy and three long hours have passed, now the roadside assistance vehicle arrives. The $1.00 burned out bulb and the $10.00 frayed brake hose are replaced - the company paid $400.00 for roadside assistance – the driver is finally on his way home to the barn.
Look on the bright side; the parts were only $11.00.
If this is an all too familiar story and if you would like to avoid an unhappy ending, call Kelly’s Truck Repair. Let us setup a routine maintenance and inspection schedule for your truck or fleet. And don't forget, we are available for roadside assistance – we might even throw in the bulb for free.
